The Duck Dynasty family is mourning the loss of its guiding light.

Phil Robertson, the bearded patriarch and founder of Duck Commander who rose to fame on A&E’s hit reality series, passed away on May 25, 2025, at the age of 78. His family honored his memory through heartfelt tributes on social media, celebrating a life deeply rooted in faith, love, and legacy.

Faith Through Grief

On Phil Robertson’s official Instagram account, the family shared a message of comfort and faith. “While our hearts ache, we take solace knowing he is now with the Lord,” the post read.

His children and grandchildren echoed that sentiment, reflecting on the strength of Phil’s belief in Jesus’ resurrection and the promise of eternal life—a message he never stopped preaching.

“Full Strength Ahead!” — A Final Farewell

Sadie Robertson Huff, Phil’s granddaughter, offered a powerful memory in her tribute.

“One of the last things he said to me was ‘full strength ahead!’ Amen!”

She described his spiritual influence as life-changing, both within their family and far beyond it. “Now he is experiencing it in the fullness. Fully alive in Christ. The new has come.”

Will Robertson, Phil’s grandson, shared a childhood photo and wrote:

“My Papaw Phil went home to the Lord today. His life, his testimony, and his devotion to God was so powerful. I’m forever grateful for his time on earth—and I’m thankful to know he’s sitting in his recliner talking to Jesus. Love you, Papaw 🩶”

A Son’s Grief, A Family’s Strength

Jase Robertson, Phil’s son, confirmed his father’s passing on X (formerly Twitter), expressing sorrow, but also peace:

“He’s gone to be with the Lord. We believe we’ll see him again.”

In December 2024, Jase had revealed on the family’s Unashamed podcast that Phil was struggling with early-stage Alzheimer’s and a blood condition.

“You know Phil’s not doing well,” he admitted at the time. “So if you put those things together… he’s really struggling.”

Despite his decline, the family rallied around him. “We all did our best to keep him comfortable and cared for,” Jase said.

More Than One Battle

Phil’s passing came during an already difficult season for the Robertsons. Kay Robertson, his beloved wife, had recently suffered a serious infection following a fall-related injury. Hospitalized for 11 days, she is now recovering in a rehabilitation center.

“She was really not doing good,” Jase recalled. “We were kind of dealing with the fact that maybe this is it.”

Thankfully, Kay stabilized, but her recovery continues.

Legacy Continues: A New Chapter for Duck Commander

Even in mourning, the Robertson family looks ahead with hope. A&E recently announced Duck Dynasty: The Revival, a 20-episode series that will follow Willie and Korie Robertson, their children, and grandchildren as they carry on the Duck Commander legacy.

Set to debut in summer 2025, the new show promises to blend the family’s entrepreneurial spirit with the same faith-driven values that made them beloved across America.

“This moment is bittersweet,” the family said. “While we say goodbye to our patriarch, we move forward inspired by everything he stood for—faith, family, and perseverance.”
