Once known as the world’s heaviest woman at 678 pounds, Pauline Potter made headlines not just for her weight, but for her incredible journey toward reclaiming her life. Her morning routine once consisted of six scrambled eggs, half a pound of bacon, four hash browns, six slices of buttered bread, and a milkshake — just for breakfast. She shared her story with the world on Season 3 of My 600-Lb. Life in 2015.
At the time, Pauline’s daily life was a constant battle. Her son Dillon was her primary caregiver, and her mobility and health were severely compromised. She underwent gastric bypass surgery in hopes of a fresh start. But like many facing extreme weight loss, the road was anything but smooth. Pauline developed an addiction to painkillers and opened up about a deeper truth: “The doctor fixed our stomachs, but he didn’t fix our minds.”
Her journey took a terrifying turn when she developed a near-fatal infection, requiring further surgery. It was a wake-up call. Determined to turn things around, Pauline committed herself fully to her recovery — not just physically, but mentally and emotionally.
That commitment paid off. By 2022, Pauline had lost over 500 pounds, reaching 223 pounds. More importantly, she regained her independence and began rebuilding a life she could be proud of.
Today, Pauline is thriving. She shares glimpses of her progress on social media, where she’s greeted with an outpouring of encouragement and support. Her confidence radiates in every post, serving as a powerful reminder that change is possible — even when the odds feel overwhelming.
Pauline’s story continues to inspire others who are on their own paths to healing, showing that with resilience, support, and self-belief, transformation is more than a dream — it’s a choice.
