Prince Harry is grieving the tragic loss of Michael Brudenell-Bruce, the 8th Marquess of Ailesbury, who died at the age of 98 in a heartbreaking accident.
According to reports, Brudenell-Bruce fell from a second-story window at his home in West London while attempting to rescue his cat, Honeybun, who was stranded outside. His longtime partner of more than 30 years, Teresa Marshall de Paoli, discovered him on the ground below, having suffered a fatal head injury from the fall onto a concrete patio.
“It was a freak accident,” Teresa said, describing the devastating moment.
The incident happened late Sunday night in the Shepherd’s Bush neighborhood of London. Emergency services responded swiftly, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. While police initially treated the circumstances as suspicious, they later confirmed it was an accidental death.
Brudenell-Bruce’s sudden passing has left his loved ones heartbroken, including Teresa and his daughter, Lady Kathryn Brudenell Bruce.
An alum of the elite Eton College, Brudenell-Bruce also served as a captain in the British Army’s Royal Horse Guards before transitioning to a career as a stockbroker. He was highly respected by those who knew him, and his death has sent shockwaves through his family and social circles.
