A tragic accident has shaken Hawaii’s North Shore as a well-known Hollywood actor, recognized for his roles in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Blue Crush, died following a suspected shark attack. The incident occurred just before 1 p.m. local time near Goat Island.
The 49-year-old actor, admired for his adventurous spirit both on screen and in the surf, was honored in an emotional statement by Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi. “Today, we mourn the loss of a remarkable individual,” the mayor said. “His courage, generosity, and commitment to others left a lasting impression. According to the Honolulu Emergency Services Department, emergency responders found the actor with multiple serious injuries. Lifeguards reached him quickly by Jet Ski and brought him to shore, but despite their best efforts, paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
