Former President Bill Clinton Speaks up

Former President Bill Clinton didn’t mince words during a wide-ranging interview that aired June 1, 2025, on CBS Sunday Morning. The discussion focused on leadership, accountability, and the current state of U.S. politics—with Clinton offering some pointed takes on both Donald Trump and Joe Biden.

When asked whether Donald Trump’s influence has any real limits, Clinton responded confidently: “Oh yeah.” He pointed to the judicial system—including many judges Trump himself appointed—as a crucial check on presidential power.

Clinton said Trump has shown a troubling pattern of trying to dodge legal consequences, but he’s hopeful that America’s institutions are strong enough to hold the line.

Even so, he warned that if those efforts to avoid accountability go unchecked, the damage could extend far beyond Trump—it could hurt the country itself in the long run.
