A devastating bus crash early Wednesday morning on Highway 57 in northern Mexico has left one person dead and several others injured. The accident happened near the Hermanas-Sabinas area, around kilometer 68, as the bus was traveling from Ciudad Acuña to Gómez Palacio, Durango.
The bus, identified by the number 9132, overturned for reasons still under investigation. Emergency crews responded swiftly, transporting the injured to nearby hospitals.
One of the victims, a young boy named Jairo, was critically injured and rushed to Clinic 7 of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) in Monclova. His condition remains serious.
At least five other passengers suffered injuries ranging from minor to severe and are being treated at local medical facilities.
