Tammy Slaton, star of TLC’s 1000-Lb Sisters, is turning heads on social media after unveiling her dramatic weight loss. When she first appeared on the show back in 2020, Tammy was 37 years old and weighed 717 pounds. Alongside her sister Amy, the two initially rose to fame on YouTube before landing their hit reality show. At their peak, their combined weight topped 1,000 pounds.
Over the years, Tammy battled severe health issues that made everyday life a challenge. In late 2022, she underwent weight loss surgery after spending more than a year at the Windsor Lane Health Care Center in Ohio—a pivotal time during which she also met her late husband, who sadly passed away in 2023.
Since surgery, Tammy has lost more than 400 pounds and now weighs around 285. She’s still on her recovery journey, but she’s more active than ever—posting updates on TikTok, spending time with her cat, and connecting with fans.
A scary moment in 2021 nearly ended her life. Tammy was hospitalized and placed on life support after a serious health crisis. She even had to undergo a tracheostomy. But with incredible determination, she pulled through. By early 2022, her brother Chris Combs proudly shared that she had already dropped 115 pounds during rehab.
Tammy hasn’t slowed down since. She recently showed off her slimmer figure in a navy blue swimsuit while lounging poolside with her friend Haley Michelle. Fans flooded social media with praise—and a few curious comments wondering if the two might be more than just friends.
Tammy’s transformation continues to inspire thousands, proving that with grit, support, and a little humor, real change is possible.
