When a woman went on vacation, she asked her brother to cat-sit. To make things easier, he moved into her apartment. But on his first day there, he came down with a nasty fever—too sick to do anything but collapse in bed.
That’s when the cat started yowling. Nonstop.
Thinking the cat was hungry, he dragged himself to the kitchen to refill the food and water bowls. But the cries didn’t stop. He tried petting her, checked the litter box—nothing worked. Every time he left the kitchen, the howling returned.
Exhausted and irritated, he eventually shut the cat out of the kitchen.
But the crying didn’t stop.
Giving up on sleep, he went back to make some coffee—and that’s when he saw it: a gas burner left open, hissing silently with no flame.
Turns out, the cat wasn’t being difficult. She was trying to save his life.
