Tension is rising on The View as co-hosts are reportedly being urged to soften their criticism of President Trump. Executive producer Brian Teta has allegedly asked the panel to tread carefully, especially with ABC undergoing major layoffs.
The network’s decision comes just before Trump’s return as the 47th president. Despite solid ratings—averaging 2.6 million viewers—staff morale is low following the firing of at least nine team members, including veteran producers.
Adding fuel to the fire, the show recently moved to ABC’s Hudson Square studios, now shared with The Tamron Hall Show. The shared space has led to conflicts over dressing rooms, schedules, and guest accommodations. While some praise the two teams for trying to cooperate, others cite mounting tension and complaints about cramped workspaces and long commutes.
On-air, the hosts are reevaluating their stance. Sara Haines has acknowledged a growing disconnect with viewers over the panel’s tone, while Alyssa Farah Griffin is pushing for more outreach to conservative audiences.
With ABC in transition and The View under pressure, both its future tone—and backstage climate—remain uncertain.
