Patrick Mahomes, his wife Brittany, and their two young children, Sterling and Bronze, were killed in Missouri when their SUV collided with a semi-truck during a storm, just days after celebrating Brittany’s birthday.
Mahomes was only 29, yet already a three-time Super Bowl champion and two-time MVP. Beyond the field, he was cherished as a husband, father, and community leader. Coach Andy Reid called him “family,” while teammate Travis Kelce mourned, “I lost a brother.”
The Chiefs will retire his No. 15 jersey, donate $15 million to his foundation, and host a public memorial at Arrowhead Stadium, where fans have gathered to honor him with flowers, jerseys, and heartfelt notes.
