Patrick Mahomes, his wife Brittany, and their children, Sterling and Bronze, were tragically killed in Missouri when their SUV was struck by a semi-truck during a storm, just days after Brittany’s birthday.
Mahomes was only 29, already a three-time Super Bowl champion and two-time MVP, but he was remembered most as a loving husband, father, and leader beyond football. Coach Andy Reid called him “family,” while Travis Kelce said he lost “a brother.”
The Chiefs announced they will retire his No. 15, donate $15 million to his foundation, and host a public memorial at Arrowhead, where fans continue to leave flowers, jerseys, and heartfelt notes.
