Popular comedian died in sad accident when massive tree limb fell on top of him…

Beloved comedian Tony Knight tragically lost his life in a freak accident while attending a music festival in France. The 54-year-old was at the Rock & Cars festival in the town of Lavaur last month when a large tree branch suddenly fell, striking him and several others. According to a family member who spoke with Fox News Digital, Tony was in great health and spirits at the time of the incident. “He had everything going for him—he was fit, funny, and full of life,” they said. “People adored him—his partner Hayley, his family, his friends around the world.”

French authorities have launched an investigation into the accident. Local media reports indicate that Tony was the only one fatally injured.

Tributes poured in on social media from fans and friends, many of whom expressed shock and sorrow at the news. “Heartbreaking to hear about Tony Knight,” one Facebook user wrote. “He brought so much joy and laughter to people’s lives.” Another added, “You never know when your last day will come—it’s truly surreal.”

One commenter wrote, “So tragic. He did so much for animals. Prayers for his loved ones.” Others echoed those sentiments: “RIP Tony,” “So sorry for your loss,” and “He’ll be missed by so many.”

Tony’s longtime partner, Hayley Wright, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover hospital and funeral expenses. As of July 5, the fundraiser had collected over $8,000 toward its $20,000 goal.

In the months leading up to his death, Tony had been preparing for a stand-up comedy tour in the UK. He was also widely known as a passionate animal advocate. On his website, he called himself a “dog listener,” and Hayley’s sister noted in the GoFundMe description that Tony had helped people worldwide better understand and communicate with their pets.

He had upcoming workshops planned across Europe and had recently wrapped up a successful run of his show Mad Dogs and an Englishman, which sold out venues in Australia and other locations.

In addition to comedy, Tony had several acting credits, including roles in Unicorn City (2012), The Legend of Awesomest Maximus (2011), and The Saxon Chronicles (2006), according to IMDb.

Originally from England, Tony had been living in Australia but spent the last four years residing with Hayley on her family’s farm in Beaufort. The couple had been together for nearly 15 years.

There are reports that Hayley may choose to scatter Tony’s ashes in France, where his final moments were spent.
