Canadian authorities have recovered the bodies of three men following a deadly mudslide near Lillooet, British Columbia, while the search continues for a fourth person still unaccounted for.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) confirmed the discoveries, noting that one body was found on Wednesday and two more on Thursday. B.C. Chief Coroner Lisa Lapointe shared the update in a statement released Saturday.
Search crews resumed efforts Friday to locate the missing man, but have not yet been successful.
Earlier in the week, on Monday, the body of a woman was also recovered from the site—the first confirmed death from the recent landslides and severe flooding that have battered southern B.C. Heavy rainfall last weekend triggered the destructive conditions across the region.
