The tiny creature had been found by a dog, who gently carried her home. After her photo was shared online, the internet exploded with guesses.
Was it a kitten? A squirrel? A bunny? Maybe a baby mink or ferret? Some even said she looked like a miniature bear—or something from another planet.
Rescuers at the center said the little one, a female just 3 or 4 days old, had already suffered a few small injuries. Even they weren’t quite sure what she was at first.
To help solve the mystery, they offered a clue: baby hares are born with fur and open eyes, while newborn rabbits come out blind and hairless.
Whatever species she ends up being, one thing’s for sure—this tiny survivor is getting the love and care she needs for a fresh start.
