Dog attacking children

Dog attacks on children are on the rise—and while rare, they can leave deep physical and emotional scars. These incidents often happen when children unknowingly trigger a dog’s defensive instincts.

Many attacks stem from dogs that lack proper training or socialization, or have a history of trauma. That’s why it’s crucial for dog owners to understand their pets’ behavior and take responsibility for their care.

At the same time, kids should be taught how to safely interact with dogs—don’t approach them suddenly, don’t bother them while they’re eating, and learn to read their body language.

Communities can also help by encouraging responsible pet ownership, offering educational programs, and enforcing sensible safety regulations. With awareness and action, we can make life safer for both kids and dogs.
