At 106, Valdemira “Valda” Rodrigues de Oliveira proves love has no age limit. Her fiancé, 66-year-old Aparecido “Jaco” Dias Jacob, captured her heart three years ago at their nursing home in Brazil, and they’ve been inseparable ever since.
“I love him so much. If he dies, I die too,” Valda said. Jaco echoed the sentiment: “She makes me happy. I fell for her the moment I saw her.”
Though doctors advised against marriage due to health concerns, the couple’s love couldn’t be stopped. With help from a volunteer group, their nursing home threw them a beautiful engagement party—150 guests, live music, and a towering cake.
Valda wore pearls and soft gray, Jaco suited up, and as they exchanged rings, the room filled with cheers. “I always dreamed of being his wife,” Valda shared. “This engagement is our way forward,” said Jaco.
Their story is proof that love doesn’t age—it only deepens.
