Tragedy struck Missouri when NFL star Patrick Mahomes, his wife Brittany, and their children, Sterling and Bronze, were killed after their SUV collided with a semi-truck during a storm. The family had just celebrated Brittany’s birthday.
Mahomes, only 29, was already a three-time Super Bowl champion and two-time MVP—but more than that, he was cherished as a devoted husband, father, and community leader. Tributes have poured in: coach Andy Reid called him “family,” and teammate Travis Kelce said, “I lost a brother.”
To honor him, the Chiefs will retire his No. 15 jersey, donate $15 million to his foundation, and hold a public memorial at Arrowhead Stadium, where fans continue to lay flowers, jerseys, and heartfelt notes.
