Authorities are investigating a tragic crash on the Florida Turnpike near Fort Pierce after a tractor-trailer made an illegal U-turn, leaving three people dead.
On August 12, driver Harjinder Singh, identified as an undocumented migrant, attempted to cross the median through a passage marked “official use only.” The maneuver blocked northbound lanes, where a minivan slammed into the semi and became wedged beneath it.
Two passengers in the van died at the scene, and the driver, a 30-year-old man from Florida City, later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Singh now faces homicide charges as investigators stress the dangers of reckless driving on high-speed roadways.
